In person only, in English or Ukrainian. Each player keeps their own ledger; the Trainer’s observations are for the team’s own discussion, with no individual scores.

What is Life Capital team building in Ottawa?
Life Capital runs corporate team building in Ottawa and Eastern Ontario as a five-hour, in-person decision simulation for 6–18 people at your premises. A certified Trainer facilitates, a Banker pays out and collects the money, and the team leaves with written decision principles, a role map and 5–7 process improvements. The price is set to your task.
You provide the room and a coffee break at half-time; we bring the boards, cards, chips and markers. The only preparation on your side is a 30-minute briefing call.
What your team does at the table
Each participant draws a Player Legend face down: a profession and a starting budget. Everyone plays their own position, but the resources on the table are finite and the goals conflict, so the session turns into negotiation almost immediately, without anyone being told to negotiate.
Participants allocate or hold, invest or wait, take on obligations and absorb a shock they did not plan for. Some cards ask for a decision, others you simply carry out. Each player writes every move into their own ledger, so at the end there is a record of what each person did, in their own hand.
In the session your team practises:
- building effective partnerships;
- aligning personal goals with the organization’s goals;
- communicating and cooperating under pressure;
- managing finite resources;
- making strategic decisions with limited information;
- bringing hidden strengths and leadership to the surface.

How the format compares with a classic team-building outing or a classroom training: business simulation games for teams, explained →
| Output | Form it takes |
|---|---|
| Agreed principles for making decisions | written, in the team’s own words, from the retrospective |
| Role map and the “red zones” of communication | who does what, and where it broke during play |
| 5–7 actionable process improvements | a backlog the team wrote itself, with owners |
The Trainer’s observations of roles and cooperation are offered for the team’s own discussion; the session produces no individual scores.
| Your situation | Session | Time | Group | Output |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Roles overlap; the same decisions get re-made | Team session | 5 h | 6–18 | role map, decision principles, improvement backlog |
| Financial literacy as a staff benefit: personal and family budgets | Standard session | 5 h | 5–8 per table | a personal resource map and plan for each participant |

What HR and team leads ask before booking
What kind of team building activity is this?
A five-hour, in-person decision simulation for 6–18 people at your premises in Ottawa or Eastern Ontario. The team plays about forty years of decisions with finite resources and competing goals, and the session ends with a retrospective in which the team writes down its decision principles, a role map and 5–7 process improvements.
Is this simulation training?
Yes. Participants make decisions with visible consequences, write every move into their own ledger and talk it through with a certified Trainer at the end. The same kinds of decision come back round after round, so practice builds up within one afternoon.
How many people can take part, and how long does it take?
6–18 participants at tables of five to eight. The session lasts five hours: a 30-minute briefing, a 2-hour first half, a coffee break, a second half of 1 hour 45 minutes and a 30-minute debrief.
Do you come to our office in Ottawa?
Yes. The session runs at your premises. Life Capital is based in Carleton Place and runs corporate sessions in Ottawa and Eastern Ontario; travel for the Trainer elsewhere is set out in the written offer.
What do we need to prepare?
A 30-minute briefing call, a room with tables that seat five to eight, chairs, a whiteboard and a coffee break at half-time. Participants come as they are; we bring the boards, cards, chips and markers.
How much does corporate team building cost?
Scenario-based corporate sessions are priced individually: the figure covers the Trainer, the briefing call, the five-hour session at your premises and the written retrospective, and moves with your task, the group size and the metrics you want re-checked. The written offer states the price.
Can it run online or in French?
Life Capital runs in person only, in English or Ukrainian: the board, the cards and the money are on a real table. Ask in the enquiry if your team needs another language.
How do we know it worked?
By 2–3 metrics agreed on the briefing call, measured before the session and re-checked after. Every team gets its own figure, because it depends on what you chose to measure.
